For ages 2 to 5

Written by Dina Rosenfeld, Illustrated by Ilene Winn Lederer

Why was Dovid HaMelech chosen to become king of Israel? This story from the Midrash reveals Dovid's leadership qualities when he was just a young boy caring for his father's sheep. When the old sheep and baby lams are hungry, the little shepherd finds a unique way to meet their needs.
